Guide to Motion Picture Industry Hours of Service Rules

This reference guide provides an overview of Hours of Service (“HOS”) requirements for Motion Picture Industry (“MPI”) transportation personnel working in British Columbia, as detailed in Compliance Circular #06-2023 (see Appendix B of this guide). These HOS rules apply province-wide and exist to ensure safety on the road. By managing allowable On-Duty and Driving time in accordance with the rules and regulations and ensuring drivers receive enough rest, motor carriers can keep fatigued drivers off the road.
