Planning the Extended Event Environment

This tool supports early discussions about zone ex or the extended event environment. It is designed to support event organizers, venues, and partners to identify the risks associated with the Zone Ex area of your event. It can help you understand how people are likely to move through Zone Ex and recognize which areas and/ or spaces may require further coordination to prevent foreseeable injury to patrons, workers and public.

Not all factors contained in this tool will apply to your event. The tool is intended to prompt further discussion around the factors that will influence zone ex. It is recommended to gather the following resources to support these discussions:

  • A map of your venue and surrounding area that you can write or draw on
  • People with understanding of the area, venue and crowd
  • Documentation to record discussions for further planning
